Striking large-scale decorative bust of an elegant woman adorned with sculpted flowers, ribbons and beautifully draped fabric. This romantic neoclassical sculpture is based on a design by celebrated 19th-century French sculptor Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse and bears an impressed “A. Carrier-Belleuse” signature on the reverse.

Crafted from a substantial composite material with a softly aged ivory-white finish, the sculpture has wonderful depth and detail from every angle. Her elaborate floral headdress, serene expression and richly modeled clothing give the piece a distinctly French Belle Époque presence.
